WHY ARE WE NOT ALLOWED TO RECEIVE DIVINE REVELATION?   One of the many verses in the Scriptures that I love concerning this subject is 1 Corinthians 14:6. In this passage, Paul is discussing the gift of tongues, speaking in the heavenly language, in public worship. He goes on to say, How can I encourage and bless you unless I come to you speaking by Revelation, by knowledge, by prophesying, or by teaching. This is not the place to discuss how we received the canonized scripture called our Bible. At some point around 300 A.D., a group of Christian scholars, referred to as theologians, decided that enough was enough. That's all the revelation we need, so they closed the gate to spiritual revelation.. This short discussion tonight is focused on you and me hearing the voice of God as he reveals the deep and wonderful mysteries that are found in this beautiful Christian life that we have.
