             THE SIMPLICITY OF THE GOSPEL THAT WE ARE CALLED TO   The message of the coming Christ contained in the gospel is so simple to understand that even a child can receive and believe. The gospel that we love so well is the story of the promised Messiah, which we know to be Jesus Christ. The Old Testament Saints and the prophets did not have the details, even though they spoke of his coming. When we look back at the prophecies of King David, it all makes sense to us because we have the revelation of who Jesus Christ is. Yet David and the other prophets who spoke of him spoke by faith that God was true and faithful to perform his promise. In the age we live in, the gospel has taken on extra baggage in the form of theology and church doctrine that add nothing of importance to the most important message the world will ever know.
