"I am not a young pretty girl who needs advice on what to do after college. I am a Clemson grad and have a masters degree. I am a military veteran with over 12 years of service. I own two companies. I am an only child and caretaker of my parents. I have been through a lot. Not 23 years or 25 years....but 37. I am constantly humbled that I don't look like all the things I have been through." These words were written by Charlynda Scales, a dynamic motivational speaker, brand ambassador, Air Force Veteran, social media influencer, and the founder and CEO of Mutt’s Sauce, LLC, a company that makes “the sauce for every meal.” Mutt's Sauce was the Grand Prize Winner of Bob Evan's Farms' 2017 Heroes to CEOs Contest.  You know I had to reach out to her after I saw that post on LinkedIn. His insights into taking advantage of an opportunity is a resounding lesson for us all. Mr. Conway is the Senior Associate AD and Chief Health & Welfare Officer at the University of Michigan. His advice to young students is to ask questions, then ask questions from the answers, and ask more questions. This is one way Darryl Conway distinguishes himself among his peers in the AT profession. It is what moved him from watching Keoki Kamau speed tape at the Art Monk football camp to sitting with the athletic trainers of the NY Jets to writing the in-stadium emergency protocol for the NFL, all before he was 25 years old.  His questions took him to work with the elite police force SWAT teams in Maryland and have him as a highly sought after leadership speaker. 27/04/2019 Duración: 34min

Kim Conley is just plain scrappy. While every runner has a unique story, Kim's journey to the world of professional running does not resemble the path of many of her fellow competitors. Growing up in Santa Rosa, California Kim's track career began in 1998 when she joined the Santa Rosa Express Track Club. She went on to compete at UC Davis, but despite steady improvement over her years as an Aggie, she graduated in 2009 with only one national-level collegiate appearance to her name. Determined to improve, Kim emerged definitively on the professional running scene at the 2012 Olympic Trials in Eugene, OR. In one of the most dramatic races of the meet, Kim mounted a comeback effort over the final lap, culminating in a sprint down the home stretch to move from 5th place to a 3rd place. Kim's podium finish, combined with a race result that fell .21 seconds inside the Olympic A standard, solidified a qualifying spot on the US Olympic team. Kim's story is for any athlete who never thought they were talented enough.

    13/04/2019 Duración: 40min

What is most the poisonous thought you have ever had? Strange question, huh? Have you ever thought about that? You should, because, your thoughts matter. I am not talking about negative self-talk. I am talking about the kind of thinking that is so nuanced and so sinister that we are not even aware it is there or what it is doing to us. I am convinced that the refusal to honor someone else’s success or accomplishments is a poison that subtly, yet very conspicuously thwarts everything we try to do. These are the words of Dr. Matthew Kutz, speaker, author, Fulbright Scholar, and Professor. Matt is passionate about helping others achieve high-level leadership and outstanding organizational performance. The Arbinger Institute provides training, consulting, coaching, and implementation tools that move individuals, teams, and organizations from the default self-focus they call an inward mindset to the results focus of an outward mindset. My guest Jim Ferrell is one of the managing founders of the organization that is rapidly growing around the world.  The Arbinger Institute was founded in 1979 by Dr. C. Terry Warner, the scholar who solved the central problem at the heart of the human sciences: the problem of self-deception. That work revealed two distinct mindsets from which people and organizations operate—a self-focused inward mindset and an others-inclusive outward mindset—and the path to sustainably changing mindset and results. Today, Jim unpacks for us our self-deceiving behaviors (going inward) and how to turn outward. Listen, when I read the books, Leadership and Self-Deception, The Anatomy of Peace and The Outward Mindset, I began calling people to apologize for my behaviors. This is great stuff.
