En Colombie, la ville côtière de Buenaventura accueille l´un des plus importants ports du pays. Les communautés locales dépendent largement de la pêche et de l´aquaculture pour gagner leur vie et les femmes représentent une grande partie de la main d´œuvre. Ces femmes vendeuses de poissons, appelées les Platoneras, travaillent de manière informelle et gagnent de faibles salaires. Comme plus de la moitié de la population mondiale, elles ne bénéficient pas d’un système de protection sociale, les rendant particulièrement vulnérable aux chocs comme la maladie, les blessures et la vieillesse. L’Organisation des Nations Unies, FAO, et ses partenaires dont l’agence norvégienne de coopération pour le développement (NORAD), aident les Platoneras à renforcer leurs moyens d’existence et améliorent leurs accès à des programmes de protection sociale tout en contribuant à la sécurité alimentaire de leurs communautés.

En Colombia, la ciudad costera de Buenaventura cuenta con uno de los puertos más activos del país. Las comunidades locales dependen en gran medida de la pesca y la acuicultura para ganarse la vida, y las mujeres constituyen una gran parte de la mano de obra. Las vendedoras de pescado, conocidas como Platoneras, trabajan de manera informal y obtienen ingresos muy bajos. Al igual que más de la mitad de la población mundial, no están cubiertas por ningún plan de protección social, lo que las hace particularmente vulnerables a impactos adversos, enfermedades, y también vejez. La Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la FAO y sus socios, incluida la Agencia Noruega de Cooperación para el Desarrollo, NORAD, están apoyando a las Platoneras para fortalecer sus medios de vida y mejorar su acceso a los esquemas de protección social, al mismo tiempo que impulsan la seguridad alimentaria.   Productoras: Lis Sánchez y Heysel Calderón (FAO Colombia).
